charrison@nphlhockey.com

Charles (Chuck) J. Harrison was born in Johnstown, Pa. And played his minor (youth) hockey in Mississauga and Burlington, Ontario, before playing D-1 NCAA hockey at Ferris State University.  Following FSU, Harrison played for the Grand Rapids (Mi) Grizzlies of the Continental Hockey League and Senior “AAA” for the OHA Dundas (ON) Real McCoys.  Chuck left the game as a player and began his officiating career, as he was a Referee in the ECHL, IHL, and Central Hockey League for 16 seasons.   During this time Chuck was a league administrator in the ECHL under Pat Kelly and for 8 seasons was the Officials Coordinator in the Central Hockey League under Ray Miron, Monte Miron and Rick Kozubach.    “I was educated in the business of professional hockey by some of the best in the business”, said Harrison.   “The Mirons (Ray and Monte) taught me the business side of the game.  I was lucky enough to be a part of the Central Hockey League from its birth.  So I was well educated in what it takes to be successful from the ground up”.  Most recently Harrison took over as General Manager of the Lapeer Loggers Professional Hockey, before the collapse of the league.  “I am proud of what I did in Lapeer the time I was there.  I took a struggling hockey team, which had missed a lot of opportunities to be successful.  If I had a couple more weeks there, the Loggers would have been the pride of the league”, he went on to say.  “But even with the way it ended, it was another great learning experience”.  “The model that has been created in the NPHL will lead to successful franchises and a strong successful league”.  Harrison has plans to build an eight (8) team league in both Single “A” and Double A, the first year, hoping to have 2 four (4) team regional divisions.
